I'm 5. But I have my parents' permission to blog...

Yesterday was my birthday!  I'm 4! I'm a big boy!

In our house birthdays are eat whatever you want days.  So I had french toast sticks and string cheese for breakfast.  Mommy made me a special lunch for school, when she dropped me off. I played with my friends and then Abba picked me up early.  We came home and watched Beatles on the computer while Mommy got Owniecat.  when everybody was home, I got to open my birthday presents!  I got lots of Thomas toys - a roundhouse, a turntable, Butch the tow truck, and James the red engine.  All of those I really really wanted.  Mommy also gave me Great Grandpa Herb's harmonica to play with.  I'm getting good at that.  I got to pick where to go to dinner, so we went to Moe's - that's my favorite.  When we got home we had special blue cupcakes - our tongues turned blue and Abba made silly faces.  Today I had blue poop - that was really funny! 

Mommy tells me that 4 year olds eat new foods, so I'm going to try that.

I just had the best birthday party ever! We went to a fire station and had a party with the fire fighters. Firewoman Addie, Fireman Derek, and Fireman John. They were really nice and fun to play with. They set up a special table and balloons and and coloring books and firehats for me and all my friends. Fireman John gave me a blue balloon on my chair because that's my favorite color. Mommy and Abba blew up guitars for me and my friends. When my friends came it was my job to give them all guitars. We ran around and played them and were very silly!



From the party room we could see all the firetrucks and an ambulance. My friends ate pizza, and I ate quesadilla. After all my friends got there and ate lunch we got a special tour of the firestation from Firewoman Addie. She was really nice. We saw their rooms and beds, and the special red lights that blink when they have a fire to go to. The firefighters have a special room with a lot of squishy chairs and a really big tv. We had lots of fun playing on them.



Then we watched Fireman John slide down the pole real fast! Then we got to see the firetrucks. I got to go first because I was the birthday boy. Here I am with Firewoman Addie. I got to turn on the firetruck lights! Everyone got to climb on the truck - even the Mommies and Daddies and Saba!



Back upstairs, Fireman Derek showed us all the equipment he wears in a fire. Big boots and pants and a jacket and a hat and a tank with air. It was kinda loud. I was a little scared. But here I am with all my friends and Fireman Derek and Firewoman Addie!



Then it was time for cake! Mommy and Abba got me a special chocolate Beatles cake just like I asked! I had FOUR candles and blew them all out. Everyone sang happy birthday, and then Abba played the Beatles Birthday song just for me. Abba ate Ringo.



We said goodbye to all my friends and Saba. When we got home, I got to open my presents. I got activity books, lincoln logs, alien blocks, and a truck that plays rock and roll! After I ate all my dinner, I got to eat the piece I really wanted - with John!



It was super yummy. Happy birthday to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Happy Thanksgiving!

My Thanksgiving was so much fun.  We woke up and I snuggled in bed with Mommy and all of our bears and we watched a big parade on TV.  I got to see Snoopy and Laurie Berkner!  Then we went to Saba's house and my family was there!  I got to play with my cousins, we played downstairs and sang songs on the pianos.  Auntie and Uncle made lots and lots of food.  I ate my veggie burger and lots of pita chips.  Then my favorite part, where I got to eat Mommy's Turkey cake!!!  I helped her make the stuffing part.  The best part is when we got presents!  I got a puzzle cup from Saba and Savta, and a Sesame Street Halloween DVD from Auntie and Uncle.  They also gave me cousin E's old train set, that we left at Saba's house for later.  Mommy and Abba gave me a new Thomas book, and my cousins gave me new bubble baths including Thomas and Curious George. 

On Friday I stayed home with Mommy.  We went shopping and I got a new blankie with giant robots on it!  Then I ride in the shopping cart and we got pillows for my cousins, and Mommy took me to the bookstore and got me Click Clack MOO!  Farmer Brown and the animals are so funny!  After lunch at Moe's, I got to ride in the racing car shopping cart and helped Mommy get groceries for dinner.  Then at home she made a Tofurky - that's a funny name, and I helped Mommy clean up.  Mommy said we had to shop fast fast so that we got home before my cousins.  After clean up, I helped Mommy make pumpkin pie and my special fruit salad for Saba.  Then Abba came home early!  I told him I had to take a bath because I was a bit grubby, but I just wanted to play with Thomas in bathtub.  I helped Mommy and Abba clean some more - I'm Rosh Paper Towels!  Then Uncle Grob, and my cousins, and their mommy came!  We played all over the house, and scared Ownie cat.  Saba came over and we had our Tofurky dinner!  Mommy made yummy yummy food for everybody!  Abba and Grob went to schul.  For dessert we ate my pie and fruit salad and ice cream!  Mommy and my cousin's mommy let us stay up and play.  When Abba and Grob came home, I went to bed.

Shabbat I was up early because I was excited to play with my cousins.  Abba and Grob went to schul so it was just me, my cousins and our mommies.  We played lots of games together, and parade, and Squashblocks, and with my doodleboard, and tickles.  After lunch we went to the playground we walk to and played birthday party and tag and soccer.  Abba and Grob came home and met us there, and we played more!  When it was getting colder, we came home and my cousins started packing.  That made me sad, because I wanted them to stay more.  We said Havdalah, and I ate dinner, and then we said our goodbyes.  Abba said they could come again and stay with us again or maybe we can go visit them at their house.

Today Abba and I planned a special hike!  First I watched TV with Mommy.  Then we got in the car to go on our hike.  Abba took us to the turkey park, but I didn't see any animals there.  First we walked down down down lots and lots of rock steps, and then we walked along the river.  I sang songs and danced, and we sang lots of Beatles.  I helped Abba find the blue markers on the trees to help tell us where to go.  Mommy worried too much, so I made sure everybody was careful so that we didn't fall into the river.  Sometimes I fell down, but I was OK.  I wanted to find where all the other people were so we could have a picnic.  We saw a big big tower with numbers on it, and I took pictures with my camera.  Then we started looking for the red markers, but sometimes they were orange.  We walked back up up through the trees to the parking lot.  All the pottys were closed.  I was getting tired, so I got to ride on Abba's shoulders!  That was fun, and we kept stopping so Mommy could catch up.  We stopped at the very top for a picnic snack.  I had to go potty, but they were closed, so Abba took me to go peepee on a tree.  He was funny when he told me to flush.  Then we went to the diner for dinner and I got my favorite - french toast!  I saved some for tomorrow.  We got home and I watched a video.  Tomorrow I go back to school.  It is going to be letter L week!

I have a secret.  It's red and shiny and has black wheels and doesn't like to get muddy.  It's James and I really want him for my birthday!

I also told Mommy that I want a drum set with cymbols like Mel plays.  My other drum is old.

We have a bridge in front of our house now.  Bob the Builders came to our house and brought a big machine that made our grass all muddy.  They took away our sidewalk and we have orange tape on sticks and a wood bridge to get to our steps.  Abba helped me move our frog Zoot and my big rock Cargo and our pumpkins by our flowers so that they don't get smushed.  We're going to get a new sidewalk to color chalk pictures on.  I'm going to make new pictures for Mommy's birthday.  I gave Mommy a big hug and asked her what she wanted for her birthday.  She said Avi hugs, but I said no - a present.  Mommy said she wanted something sparkly.  I like sparklys.

I was sad tonight because Abba went to schul, but he came home and gave me a big kiss.  Abba also told me that ownie cat is going to be ok and she is going to a special eye doctor and might have eye surgery - just like me!  I'm glad that she's going to be ok.

I'm a dinosaur!  RAWWWRRRRRR!

I am a BIG KID!  At school I am now in the Dinosaur class! I get to go upstairs and learn LOTS of new things.  Today I was upstairs for lunch and nap and snack, and tomorrow I get to wear pajamas again and there is a pizza party, but I don't like pizza.

Friday is a family day and Mommy said that if it isn't cold and rainy we can go to the zoo to see Randall the giraffe.  My friend Paige and Paige's Mommy are coming too!

Mommy and Abba and I have been talking a lot about Savta.  I miss her and want her to come back.  Tonight I asked Mommy where Savta is and I remembered the fun things I did with Savta like reading the newspaper and playing on the computer and playing trains and puzzles.  Then I looked at Mommy and Abba's big white book where they got married and saw pictues of Savta looking very happy.  Mommy said she was going to make me pictures of me and Savta together to hang in my room so that I can see her and say goodnight to Savta.  I know she is in my heart and I remember her in my head, but I miss her a lot.
